Discover Southeast Arkansas: Where Agriculture, Historic Plantations, Forests, and Natural Resources Thrive
Join us at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, home of the Boll Weevils, for the second stop in our statewide Arkansas Celebrates America250 Convening Series! Full-day event offers six hours of professional development credit and will include a keynote presentation from the DESE A250 team on how the Arkansas Celebrates America250 education initiative will be implemented across the state—in schools, classrooms, and communities.
This convening will also feature region-specific sessions that highlight local resources and opportunities for educators. Whether you're looking for curriculum connections, community partnerships, or inspiration to engage students in this historic milestone, you’ll find it here.
A few of the things that will be included:
--Hollywood Plantation, Taylor House, and the historical impact on agriculture in the area
--Natural resources and forestry has historically shaped the industry today
Be part of the excitement as we kick off our yearlong celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Educators are welcome to attend one or multiple events in the series!
