Location: Arkansas State University (A-State) Jonesboro, AR
Instructed By: Jill Clogston
Come join us at Arkansas State University for a day of professional learning focused on ensuring all Arkansas students and educators have the opportunity to engage deeply with Arkansas history, values and future. This special opportunity will bring educators together for a convening to explore ways to integrate America's story into classroom instruction. Our regional convening will spotlight Fine Arts and Humanities. This day will empower educators with resources and connections to enrich instruction while celebrating the state's vibrant cultural heritage. Teachers will get to tour A-State's Windgate Center for Three-Dimensional Art, hear presentations from Penny Toombs, Assistant Director, A-State Heritage Sites, and Rex Nelson, senior editor and columnist for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. He also has a biweekly podcast called "Southern Fried." We will have exhibits in the atrium of the Humanities featuring the ASU Heritage Studies Program, the Sultana Museum, the National Cold War Museum, and other invited guests.
