This interactive session will examine women's roles in 20th Century conflicts up to and including female participation in active duty. Held on National Donut Day, this workshop will "dip in" to the history and literature of the Donut Lassies and Donut Dollies (accompanied by treats, of course). You will also encounter other crucial actions of women to contribute to war efforts as you explore museum exhibits, receive resources, and participate in activities that will be useful in your own lessons. The goal is to help you offer students a fun, unique lens to study U.S. conflicts and better understand the female impact on the battlefront and the homefront.
