NWAESC---Focus, Connect, Act! Personalized Learning for all Students
Office of Innovation for Education (OIE) inaugural Innovation Summit held on September 29th brought visionary leaders together from Arkansas schools to Focus, Connect, and Act to transform education in Arkansas! OIE would like for you to join us for regional follow up sessions to pursue deeper learning and planning in the areas that focus on the needs of your students and your communities. OIE staff are here to support research and exploration of innovative programs and practices and to get the word out to Arkansas schools. For schools planning to apply for School of Innovation (SOI), time will be allotted to work on plan. We are fortunate to have Kenneth Grover, principal of Innovations Early College High School in Salt Lake City, UT to facilitate our follow-up sessions. Innovations High was created from the ground up with anytime, anywhere learning; full instructional integration with the local community college; career-path support; mastery-based education; college & career readiness; real-time progress monitoring for students and parents; and self-directed learning. This seminar is designed for Arkansas Educators to identify key next steps in transforming their personalized learning environments from a classroom effort to a school wide implementation. The focus will be improving student achievement and equity in the classroom. The sessions will discuss the multiple facets of personalized learning and offer meaningful solutions to perceived barriers and provide differentiated ideas to inspire this effort. Participants will leave the seminar with solutions in mind and next steps to continue the transformation effort that are tailored to each school and their needs. We look forward to working with you in this inaugural cohort that will shape the landscape of Arkansas education. Thank you in advance for being thoughtful, visionary leaders that have the courage to think outside the box.
