SCSC - Kelly Gallagher-Write Like This! Teaching Real-World Writing through Modeling Mentor Text
Since 1985, Kelly Gallagher has devoted himself to the teaching of reading, writing, listening and speaking—first and foremost, as a high school ELA teacher in Anaheim, California, and also as a author/consultant who works with educators around the world. Today, he is considered one of the leading voices in literacy education. Kelly will share his strategies and practices to encourage students to write. If writing is a part of your content area, you will want to attend this workshop! TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 3A, 3C, 4E
Important Session Information:
For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants will pay the listed fee including Nurses and Paraprofessionals. All professional development (PD) sessions require a minimum number of participants. If the minimum number is not met; the PD session will be canceled two weeks prior to the event. Registrants for the session will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks). In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price of the session(s) not attended. No credit will be awarded until the fee is paid.
