SCSC - Let's BreakoutEDU!
Breakout EDU is a cutting edge immersive learning games platform that can be used to facilitate rigorous, content-aligned, classroom challenges. In a Breakout EDU game, learners have a set amount of time to move around the room, work together and solve a series of engaging critical thinking puzzles in order to unlock a mystery box. Games are standards-aligned and designed for learners of all ages and abilities. All Breakout EDU games cultivate inquiry, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Participants will gain access to all the games on the Breakout EDU website, and will have the opportunity to design games for their classroom. Participants will leave with the knowledge and resources to be able to facilitate Breakout EDU games in their classrooms. TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 1E, 3C, 4E
Important Session Information:
For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants including nurses and paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. All professional development (PD) sessions require a minimum number of participants. If the minimum number is not met; the PD session will be canceled two weeks prior to the event. Registrants for the session will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks). In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price of the session(s) not attended. No credit will be awarded until the fee is paid. TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 1E, 2C, and 3C.
