SCSC - Simplifying Response to Intervention
RTI is not a series of implementation steps to cross off on a list, but a way of thinking about how educators can ensure each child receives the time and support needed to achieve success. RTI must be divided between collaborative teacher teams and school wide teams. This workshop shows how to create an RTI model using the Four Essential Guiding Principles from Simplifying Response to Intervention by Buffum, Mattos, and Weber. Learn how this system guarantees responsibility for the learning of every student. TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 1B, 1C, and 1E.
Important Session Information:
For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants including nurses and paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. All professional development (PD) sessions require a minimum number of participants. If the minimum number is not met; the PD session will be canceled two weeks prior to the event. Registrants for the session will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks). In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price of the session(s) not attended. No credit will be awarded until the fee is paid. All participants who register by June 14th will receive a copy of the professional text, Simplifying Response to Intervention. Those registering after that date will need to bring a copy to the training.
