SCSC-What Classroom Teachers need to know about Dyslexia



Do you need help in determining how to meet the needs of your students with dyslexia characteristics in this classroom?  Do you need help in determining accommodations for your content area?  This professional development will provide an overview of dyslexia, description of the characteristics, rationale for screening, guidance regarding how to use assessment data to plan classroom interventions, and a review of classroom accommodations. TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 1B, 1E, and 3D.

Important Session Information:


For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants including nurses and paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. All professional development (PD) sessions require a minimum number of participants. If the minimum number is not met; the PD session will be canceled two weeks prior to the event. Registrants for the session will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks). In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price of the session(s) not attended. No credit will be awarded until the fee is paid.
