SCSC -Problem Solving, Conflict Resolution, Anger Management and De-escalation-Relaxation
Do you find yourself spending too much time putting out discipline fires in the classroom? Problem solving, conflict resolution, anger management, and de-escalation/relaxation strategies are imperative tools needed to create and foster a climate conducive to learning. This workshop will help participants: (1) gain an understanding of problem solving components, (2) recognize the benefits of teaching conflict resolution and application of strategies, (3) identify the levels of anger and four de-escalation strategies to use in the classroom, (4) explore positive outcomes that can result from an anger management program, and (5) practice implementing relaxation techniques. TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 3A, 3B, and 3C.
Important Session Information:
For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants including nurses and paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. All professional development (PD) sessions require a minimum number of participants. If the minimum number is not met; the PD session will be canceled two weeks prior to the event. Registrants for the session will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks). In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price of the session(s) not attended. No credit will be awarded until the fee is paid.
