SCSC - Proper Instruction of the Coding Block for Grades 7 and 8



Intended for the teacher who will provide instruction in the 7-8 Coding block. Participants will thoroughly explore the Arkansas Coding Block standards through a series of activities that can be used in classroom instruction. Instructional strategies and extension activities for those offering more than the 4 week requirement will be included. We will use a free coding environment; the computer science concepts to be covered can be applied to the programming language or environment of your district’s choice. TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 1E, 3C, and 4E.

Important Session Information:


For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants including nurses and paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. All professional development (PD) sessions require a minimum number of participants. If the minimum number is not met; the PD session will be canceled two weeks prior to the event. Registrants for the session will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks). In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price of the session(s) not attended. No credit will be awarded until the fee is paid.
