SCSC-ICLF-K-1- Text Analysis for Small Group Instructional Reading



This module focuses on the importance of analyzing texts for small group instruction. Teachers will be equipped to choose appropriate material based on a scope and sequence for decoding, as well as instruction for instant word recognition. In addition, the importance of handwriting fluency will be addressed. Participants will need to bring guided reading texts; decodable texts; and pacing guid for phonics. TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 1A, 3A, and 3C.

Important Session Information:


For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants including nurses and paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. All professional development (PD) sessions require a minimum number of participants. If the minimum number is not met; the PD session will be canceled two weeks prior to the event. Registrants for the session will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks). In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price of the session(s) not attended. No credit will be awarded until the fee is paid.
