DSC Catch ‘em Being Good: Reinforcement, Punishment & Extinction

In planning behavior change, we encounter three major challenges:  1) the correct identification of the change objectives, 2) the selection and application of appropriate behavior change methods in an intervention, and 3) adequate implementation of the intervention.  This training will address the basic behavior change methods of reinforcement and punishment including how to effectively apply use of these in the classroom.

Basic Principles of Reinforcement and Punishment is one of four Essential Skills Trainings that are beneficial to attend prior to any of the Tier II trainings being provided throughout the school year. The Essentials will be required in 2018-19 for the development of school district teams that will receive in-depth training and coaching toward building local capacity.
