Designed specifically for K-1 educators, this module focuses on teacher instruction that will model the behaviors of good readers and provide a model of fluent and expressive reading that will teach students how to employ a range of strategies, as well as model how to construct meaning while reading. The module will also focus on how to promote vocabulary growth and concept development through direct instruction.
Participants are encouraged to bring one or two read aloud texts that will be used in the future during read-aloud instruction. One of the text will be utilized for creating an instructional plan that the teacher will use with his/her class.
