LDC is designed to make literacy instruction the foundation of the core subjects. LDC offers a planning approach in which literacy is a venue for learning content. In LDC teachers use a systematic framework for developing reading, writing, and thinking skills within various disciplines. Over the course of the 2018-19 school year, teachers will complete and teach modules with support from the school LDC Team, as well as the Dawson Literacy Specialist. The LDC tools embed the Arkansas Standards into content-area instruction.
