WDMESC: WDMESC and Harding STEM: My Students Won't Think! A look at Engaging Students in Higher Level Questioning in Math, Grades 3-6
Have you ever posed a great question or problem and the students just sit there? In this session we will look at the difference between complicated and complex questions, practice writing higher level questions or tasks (ACT Aspire test emphasizes DOK3), and experience strategies to promote student engagement in questions or tasks involving deeper student thinking. Addresses TESS 3b, 3c. PREREQUISITE: Prior experience with Webb's Depth of Knowledge (DOK). If you would like professional development on DOK, consider the "ASPIRE to Be Great!" PD scheduled June 20, 2017
