WDMESC: ACT Aspire Content Training for 6-8 Literacy

This professional development session is designed in two parts.

The first two hours of the session center around the design, scoring, and reporting of ACT Aspire assessments. These two hours are required BEFORE attending any of the four hour content sessions. This first section will be from 8:30 - 10:30.

The second portion of this day consists of content related to literacy. During these four hours participants will engage in lessons or activities designed to support student success in the content areas as related to assessment. The second section will be from 10:30 - 3:30.

Teachers who teach only one content area will need to choose either July 31 or August 1 from 8:30 - 3:30.

Important Session Information:

Teachers who teach more than one content area may attend the four hour content sessions on successive days. For example, a sixth grade teacher who attends the math session on July 31 might also attend the science session on August 1. This teacher would attend all six hours of math on July 31 and would be required to attend the science session from 10:30 - 3:30 on August 1.

This training will be held at Harding  University, Thornton Education Center, with signs to guide you.
