From curriculums currently being used in the districts within our region, participants will engage in tasks to develop a deeper understanding of the following: Purposeful Pedagogy and Discourse Model of Instruction, Standards for Mathematical Practice, Arkansas Mathematics Standards, Depth of Knowledge, and ACT Aspire Performance Level Descriptors. Participants will investigate how to recognize and integrate these elements in the classroom. Tasks will focus on Number and Operations in Base Ten and Number and Operations with Fractions within the Arkansas Mathematics Standards.
