GREC-Taking it to the Schools III: Community Experience in Music



THIS EVENT WILL BE A LIVE STREAMING MUSIC PD.  Presenter Brian Hiller is Associate Professor of Music at Hofstra University, Music Specialist in Westchester County, New York and Orff Level I and II Pedagogy  Instructor.  Mr. Hiller will present a six-hour, hands-on workshop with participants singing, moving, and playing a variety of pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments.  The workshop will include several fully-processed  classroom lessons which will include warm-ups, lessons, performances, and extension activities and dynamic choral pieces for use with choirs.  The materials will be aligned to Arkansas Academic Standards for Music and will include rich discussion about partnerships between school arts and community arts programs.

TEACHERS NOT WORKING UNDER CONTRACT WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN THE GREAT RIVERS CO-OP AREA WILL BE PLACED ON A WAITING LIST.  YOU MAY CONTACT GREAT RIVERS 24-48 HOURS BEFORE THE WORKSHOP TO CHECK FOR AN OPENING.  YOU WILL BE CHARGED A $25.00 FEE PER DAY, $15.00 PER HALF DAY TO ATTEND WORKSHOPS AT GREAT RIVERS.  PLEASE REMEMER THAT IF YOU REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP AT GREAT RIVERS AND DO NOT ATTEND AND DO NOT CANCEL AHEAD OF TIME, YOUR DISTRICT WILL BE BILLED FOR EACH WORKSHOP YOU FAIL TO ATTEND WITHOUT CANCELING.  IF YOU CAN NOT CANCEL ON LINE PLEASE CALL GREAT RIVERS AT 870-338-6461.
