GFESC - PURPOSEFUL PEDAGOGY FOR HIGH SCHOOL MATH

Arkansas is striving to lead the nation in student-focused instruction.  In high school, it is increasingly difficult to provide that style of instruction.  During this one-day professional development, we will focus on the specific needs and demands of high school math teachers and strategies they can use to encourage students to take ownership of their own learning, which is a major component of student-focused instruction.  Through purposeful pedagogy (and math discourse) we can help students make the shift that is necessary for student-focused instruction to be successful.

Important Session Information:

NO COST TO PDC DISTRICTS.  Lunch will be provided.

Please make arrangements to attend the full day of PD.  We also cannot allow guests, including children, during professional development and training.

Materials required:  Any internet-capable devices will be sufficient for pre- and post- PD surveys (smartphones, tables, laptops, etc).  Materials and resources will be shared via Google Drive for your convenience, but access to these materials during professional development training is not necessary.
