NWAESC(2095)---Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
Participants engaging in this session will be able to: Identify five key competencies of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL); Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, Responsible Decision Making; Use a common vocabulary that distinguishes the Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports (PBIS) framework from evidence-based programs and practices; Discuss brain neuroscience using a practical hand model to reflect on their own behaviors and those of students ; Demonstrate foundational SEL skills from Conscious Discipline® (Bailey, 2015) for everyday use with children and adolescents.
