NWAESC(2095)---Trauma Informed Classrooms
Participants engaging in this session will be able to: Identify trauma as a spectrum (including toxic stress), its prevalence, and symptoms; Use Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills to address aggression when time is short and “notice” students, which activates their “prefrontal lobes and strengthens their executive skills of sustained attention, empathy, and problem solving” (Bailey, 2015, Conscious Discipline, pg. 128 & pg. 276-277)
