Participants engaging in this session will be able to:
• Discuss
factors that contribute to low family involvement using a Multi Systemic
Therapy “Fit Circle” in order to see the roots of this problem and to
prioritize individualized action steps
• Identify at
least one best practice, after reviewing several, to try to increase family
engagement
• Be able to
apply Crucial Conversation® skills to real life, school challenges to increase
respectful, candid dialogue
• Be familiar with the differences between
basic, growth, and optional privileges in order to empower parents/guardians to
consider a rule for classroom/school behavior and an at-home consequence
