NAESC Essential Skills Training: Basic Principles of Behavior
A principle of behavior describes a basic behavior-environment relation that has been demonstrated repeatedly in hundreds, even thousands, of experiments. In managing classroom behavior and designing interventions, it is critical that teachers understand the basic principles of behavior in order to be effective. In this 6 hour training, a description of the science of Applied Behavior Analysis will be provided, and participants will discuss six basic principles of behavior. Basic Principles of Behavior is one of several Essential Skills Trainings that are beneficial to attend prior to attending any of the Tier 2 behavior trainings being offered. The Essentials will be required in 2018-19 for the development of school district teams that will receive in depth training and coaching toward building local capacity.
