GFESC - PROMOTING A GROWTH MINDSET: A TOOL FOR COMBATING APATHY, MATH 6-12

One of the most common concerns from teachers is that of the apathetic student.  How can we teach a student who is disengaged?  Applying the work of Jo Boaler, Carol Dweck, Angela Duckworth, and many other internationally known researchers, participants will be provided with resources and activities, along with instructional strategies, to promote a growth mindset in their students.  Studies indicate that student success and level of engagement is directly related to their mindset.  This one-day PD is a deep look into making progress in those first weeks of school.  But it is not a magic "pill".  The practices learned must be implemented and maintained throughout the year.  Support through this process will be provided upon request.

Important Session Information:

NO COST TO PDC DISTRICTS.  Lunch will be provided.

Participants are asked to bring their own internet-capable devices, such as tablets or laptops, which are always recommended for GFESC Math PD.
