DSC 2018-19 CTE Facilitators' Meeting
The Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 was reauthorized and signed into law on July 31, 2018. Perkins V reauthorizes the federal investment for a total of six years covering FY 2019 through FY 2024. Perkins V will take effect on July 1, 2019 with a one year transition period from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. Please plan to attend this very important meeting to learn about the purpose of the new law, the new definitions used in Perkins V, and the new performance indicators used to measure accountability. Additional topics which will be discussed will include, but not limited to, new curriculum frameworks, new equipment lists, equipment inventories, regional advisory committee meetings, and numerous changes taking place at the state level. Please plan to attend this very important meeting.
