School Based Dyslexia Identification
This course focuses on the implementation of Act 1294 and school-based identification of students with characteristics of dyslexia in Arkansas. Led by Vicki King, Dyslexia Specialist for the Arkansas Department of Education, this course will cover a review of the current definition of dyslexia, the core principles of dyslexia identification, case studies, and step-by-step procedures for analyzing evaluations.Designed for Arkansas educators who are new to the process of identifying students with characteristics of dyslexia for placement in dyslexia therapy programs, this course will prepare educators to be informed members of the school-based teams making decisions regarding students'' needs for interventions, services, and accommodations.TESS Domain: 1b, 3eLEADS Domain: 2E, 4A, 5A
