In order to effectively manage classroom behavior and design appropriate interventions for problematic behavior, it is essential that teachers understand the basic behavior principles. This training is designed to review and clarify those principles so that behavioral intervention will be effectively result in positive changes.
This is the first of four Essentials Trainings offered by the K-12 Behavior Support Specialists. The Essentials trainings must be completed in sequence. After completion of ALL four Essentials Trainings, participants are eligible to attend more advanced trainings on Instructional and Behavior Strategies and Programming to address moderate problem behaviors. In order to facilitate participation in future BX³ project initiatives, it is recommended that districts form teams and attend the Essentials Trainings. Participants should bring a laptop, tablet, or other electronic device in order to participate in online activities as part of the training.
In order to increase preparedness for participation in future BX³ project initiatives, it is recommended that districts form teams that include an administrator, general education teacher and special educator that will attend the Essential Trainings. Participants in the 4 Essentials does not guarantee acceptance in the BX³ Initiative.
