Participants will:
- Understand what is meant by content area reading and why it is important to teach content area reading skills
- Examine theoretical models and how they apply to reading in the content areas
- Acquire new strategies to increase literacy engagement in the content areas
Note: This session qualifies for Science of Reading Pathway D.
Audience: This professional development was written for content teachers in Grades 3-6. However, high school teachers are welcome to attend. Regular education and special education teachers are welcome.
