The School Nurse Academy (SNA) is a one-day workshop that will be hosted 5 different times in 2019. It prepares school nurses to manage complex health issues in Arkansas school children. The content will be on specific disorders, evidence-based practices, quality improvement, and leadership. The school nurse will increase knowledge and skills to better manage acute and chronic conditions by keeping students healthy and in school while empowering to connect the outcomes for academic achievement developed by the School Nurse Academy Advisory Committee: Partnership between Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH), the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), and the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH).
Topics to be included:
- Asthma: Pathophysiology, Simulation, and Management
- Audiology: EARS/Hearing and Technology
- Leadership: Advocacy, Communications, and Outcomes
CNE's will be provided for this event. Registration for CNE's will require signing up on TRAIN.org also.
