WDMESC: Connecting Educators to Industry

There are an estimated 5.6 million job openings nationwide, with approximately 60,000 of those in Arkansas. The majority are in high skilled technical fields and these jobs make up a vast majority of the manufacturing sector, a cornerstone of the state’s economy, and represent more than 90 percent of Arkansas’s exports. The goal of Connecting Educators to Industry is to connect educators with industry experts in regions across the state by providing educators with research, data and information that can be shared with students as they make decisions about future career paths in manufacturing, trucking, construction, agriculture and other industries in Arkansas.
The day includes a panel of industry leaders, a chance to learn more about the Be Pro Be Proud initiative, a tour of local industry and resources for the classroom.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive:
• Six hours of ADE Certified Professional Development
• Grade level appropriate resources
•Opportunity to visit with industry leaders
• Lunch
• $50 Stipend

***Educators should wear closed toed shoes for the industry tours
