WDMESC: K-12 Global Goals in Education

This session will address how Global Competence and Learning for Sustainability can have transformative effects on curriculum and standards. Global competence is the capacity to examine local, global, and intercultural issues, to understand and appreciate the perspectives and world views of others, to engage in open, appropriate, and effective interactions with people from different cultures, and to act for collective well-being and sustainable development. Workshop participants will work with Learning for Sustainability tools, frameworks for global competencies, and the tools and skills embedded into the Inspire Citizens' Empathy to Impact Cycle: Care, Aware, Able, Impact in order to level-up pre-existing units, making standards and skills come alive with relevance and greater community action.
