CRESC - Addressing Student Needs Through the IEP Process
The Arkansas Department of Education, Special Education Unit is offering a full-day training this summer to educational service cooperatives. The focus of the training will be developing strong present level (PLAAFP) sections and using that to build better IEPs, from placement to goals and everything in between. The session will also include the impact that a well-developed, or poorly-developed, PLAAFP and goals can have from a legal perspective, citing both in-state and national precedents. The training will be a hands-on experience. Each District (or attendee if attending individually) will be asked to bring a file to assist them in this work. This is a great opportunity to collaborate and to develop specific examples. (No student-specific information will be shared.)
