NWAESC(2095)---Perkins V Overview and Round Table Discussion

On July 31, 2018, the President signed the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act into law. This bill reauthorizes the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins) and will be referred to as Perkins V.  Perkins is dedicated to increasing learner access to high-quality Career Technical Education (CTE) programs of study. With a focus on systems alignment and program improvement, Perkins is critical to ensuring that programs are prepared to meet the ever-changing needs of learners and employers. Attendees of this program will receive an overview of the Perkins V program from Christine Bennett with the Arkansas Department of Career Education on how Perkins V will impact CTE programs in Arkansas.  Attendees will also be able to provide feedback and input into the best allocation of the resources provided by these funds to better prepare today's students for the workforce and careers of tomorrow.
