GFESC - SERVING FAMILIES AND STUDENTS IN POVERTY

Each day, students come to school from a very different life than many of us are accustomed too.  While most of us are stressing over who will take Johnny to after school practice or how we will find time to prepare for this weekend's family social, many of our students are going without food, are unsure of where they will sleep each night, and if the people they are surrounded by will keep them safe.  It is difficult to understand and help these students who live a life so different from our own.  In this workshop, attendees will participate in a simulation designed to help understand the challenges faced by families in poverty.  In the afternoon session, we will look at ways we can address these challenges.

A minimum of 30 participants is required to include the poverty simulation.
