SE Every Math Learner: Differentiating Instruction (Day 2)

Why is it that math seems to be so challenging for so many students?  There are many explanations as to why math starts out being one of the most favored school subjects by students in primary grades, but quickly moves to one of the most hated subjects.  In this workshop Nanci addresses the impact of students’ differences on instruction and how those differences can be addressed through math instruction that emphasizes conceptual understanding along with procedural fluency.  Specifically, participants will:

  • Explore multiple ways to assess and address students’ differences in learning mathematics

  • Discover the meaning and how to teach math conceptually.

Important Session Information:

Nanci Smith will be the presenter.
