NEA - Student Success Plans: Year Two

The Year Two Student Success Plan follow-up training will go beyond the procedural requirements of Act 930 to making the process more meaningful to students. Participants will role-play having conversations with students around the various components of the Student Success Plan. District teams will be given an opportunity to review their chosen college and career planning tool and determine how that tool can best be used to support the student success planning process. Participants will review advisory period structures and social emotional learning programs that Arkansas districts are currently using. Participants will explore the new Arkansas G.U.I.D.E. for Life principles through the lens of the student success plan. At the end of the session, school teams will walk away with a plan for deeper implementation of the SSP process.

Year Two Student Success Plan training is designed as a working session for district teams, and each school is encouraged to send a team consisting of building administrator(s), counselor(s), special education supervisor(s), lead teacher(s), and CTE representative(s).
