Districts that were identified as needing coordinated or directed support based on ACT 1082 received a letter from DESE. Districts that received a letter had more than 40% of students in grades 3-10 scoring In Need of Support on the ACT Aspire. Districts that had more than 50% of students scoring In Need of Support are required to attend these support meetings. The DESE and local educational service cooperatives will work with districts in need of additional support to improve literacy.
Leadership teams may include the Superintendent, Building Principals, Curriculum Director, Literacy Coach/Facilitator, Federal Programs Director, or anyone the district/school would like to attend.
