SCSC - School Nurse Updates



This presentation will cover the Role of the Arkansas Professional School Nurse, increasing their knowledge of current nursing and school health best practices and laws that impact school health/nursing and how to incorporate those skills when caring for students and staff. The School Nurse participant will learn assessment skills in evaluating common playground and sport injuries in the school setting. These professionals will understand current Arkansas vaccination recommendations and exemptions and its relation to communicable disease and how it effects students in the school setting. The school nurses will increase their knowledge in the changing trends in nicotine delivery systems as well as the harm and dangers related to nicotine use in adolescents.

For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. Districts that have not paid for nurses and/or paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (the address tied to escWorks).
