ARESC-Introduction to Computer Networking
This session presents the fundamentals of computer networking for those with little or no experience to the topic. Attendees will gain familiarity with the basics of the Wireshark packet capturing tool and an understanding of the basic elements of a computer's network configuration. There will be hands-on work with Wireshark, routers, and switches. Attendees will walk away with a basic understanding of networking vocabulary such as LAN, WAN, protocol, MAC address, IP address, subnet mask, default getaway, DNS, DHCP, and HTTP. This session should be ideal for those preparing or currently teaching CS courses with a networking/hardware emphasis; yet too basic for those with experience.
