This professional development is designed for teachers who teach a Critical Reading or Strategic Reading Course. However, all teachers are welcome to attend regardless of whether they teach those courses or not. Four different professional development days are offered; however, attendance in all four sessions is not required (but is strongly recommended).
Participants will:
- Apply word-level decoding strategies
- Apply strategies for morphological instruction
- Distinguish between syllabication and morphological analysis
- Explain the purpose of encoding assessments
- Explain word study as an intervention strategy
Audience: Strategic Reading Course teachers and Critical Reading Course teachers. However all middle school and high school teachers are welcome to attend.
This session is in support of the Science of Reading Pathway U.
