This session has been converted to a digital training and will be delivered via Zoom. If possible, along with your computer, please have available paper, pen, and phone. For the best learning experience, we ask that participants keep their cameras on and stay muted unless speaking.
The reading of nonfiction places many demands upon the reader. It requires that the reader utilize a variety of skills and strategies, as well as background knowledge and experiences, to make meaning of complicated text arrangements, vocabulary, and author's intent. Based on the book, Reading Nonfiction, by Kylene Beers and Robert Probst, this professional learning experience will introduce the signposts and strategies these authors have identified as essential in helping readers analyze and evaluate nonfiction text.
