NAESC Even MORE Social Studies Best Practices
Building on the momentum from last summer's Social Studies training, Lisa and Sarah are ready to take Social Studies best practices to the next level. This year's full day session will provide participants a practical application of the RISE initiative in the Social Studies classroom. Using engaging vocabulary study strategies, participants will be engaged in high interest activities that support vocabulary acquisition. This session will also continue to provide meaningful disciplinary literacy strategies to be used in all Social Studies classrooms. Finally, participants will dig deeper into effective test writing/ test taking strategies that will help all students perform better on the ACT, ACT Aspire or your own classroom assessments.
