AFESC--The Very Basics: School-Based Identification of the Characteristics of Dyslexia



This training is designed for Arkansas Educators who are new to the process and procedures for the identification of struggling readers and placement into interventions. The core principles of the RTI process including standards of measurement, data gathering, review of early reading assessments and progress measurements • Case studies will be reviewed that allow the participants to recognize the characteristic profiles of struggling readers and to make decisions regarding interventions. This training does NOT certify a participant to make a diagnosis, but prepares the participant to be an informed member of a school-based decision making team.
