The Behavior Essentials is a three session, eighteen hour professional development to help school staff understand and change behavior. Consecutive attendance in all three sessions of Behavior Essentials is required prior to attending any of the Targeted Intervention Trainings being offered throughout the school year. Additionally, the Essentials are required in 2019-20 for the development of future school district BX3 teams that will receive in depth training and coaching toward building local capacity. Suggested TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, and 4B.
This third session of Behavior Essentials focuses on interventions that are proactive and may prevent or avoid problem behavior, while increasing and reinforcing positive behavior. Participants will be able to describe and implement several strategies based on behavioral research, including individual and group interventions.
