DSC Essential Practices for Wondrous Science: Developing and Using Models (Part 2)
In part two of this fourth in a series of online professional development sessions, “Essential Practices for Wondrous Science,” teachers build on their understanding of the practice of Developing and Using Models. Emphasis will be on participants working on developing a model-based lesson for use in their classroom. Participants will also have opportunities to collaborate in order to strengthen their own professional practice through feedback and revision. The opportunity to implement the lesson in the classroom for PD credit will be available. As participants explore the pedagogy of model-based lessons they will discover how developing and using models can be a powerful tool for learning and assessing.
