This session is designed for English Language Arts teachers
who would like ideas for using Mentor Texts and Quickwrites with their
students. Information from notable experts like Linda Rief, Penny Kittle, Kelly
Gallagher, Ralph Fletcher, Harvey Daniels, and Nancy Steineke will be featured.
There will also be a discussion of aliteracy using the work of Steven Layne.
This is a virtual session. Zoom links will be
sent to those who register. Participants are required to keep their cameras
turned on, as attendance will be monitored throughout the session. In order to
receive the full 6 hours credit, you must attend both days.
Participants from WDMESC who register before May 14 will receive a copy of Linda Rief's book, The Quickwrite Handbook. Handouts and PowerPoint will not be provided for this session.
