ARESC-Introduction to Morphology in the STEM Classroom (Grades 6-12)
This 6 hour blended professional development (3 hours F2F and 3 hours independent) focuses on how morphology helps successful readers to access information in reading in the areas of science, math, technology, engineering, and career & technical (CTE) program areas. Embedding knowledge of morphological components, including Greek and Latin influences, in words helps ensure success for all readers. Strategies will be explored to ensure that all students have necessary knowledge and tools to become successful readers in content areas. The audience for this professional development are teachers of science, math, technology, engineering, and career & technical education (CTE) in Grades 6-12. NOTE: Content will be aligned with the science of reading and will assist teachers to implement the science of reading into their classrooms for possible evaluations.
