SWAEC- (Zoom) Virtual Regional FCS Teacher PLC

This session is virtual. The regional areas of Dawson, DeQueen/Mena, Southwest, and South Central are teaming up to provide a Regional Family and Consumer Science CTE Professional Development. The PD will host a very important training for new and returning FACS teachers. Topics of discussion include: Perkins V, new programs of study, industry certifications, FCCLA, equipment requirements and the new standards for programs of study. Teachers will be given the opportunity to showcase projects within their local program area. Please bring the necessary materials to showcase your projects. During the afternoon, teachers will complete a local needs assessment and engage in virtual hands-on cooking and flipped learning objectives. All FACS teachers are encouraged to attend this meeting. This is a regional meeting and a Zoom link will be provided closer to time. Opportunity of hours is 6. TESS components addressed: 1D, 1E, and 4D.

For SWAEC Professional Development Consortium member districts, the fee for this session has been waived. Members and non-members will be assessed a “no show” fee if you register and do not attend. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified by email (address tied to escWorks) and no one will be charged a fee.
