SCSC-VIRTUAL-Child Maltreatment and Reporting/Human Trafficking



In this training from Melanie Halbrook, Director of Education for the Children's Advocacy Center of Benton County, participants will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of child maltreatment, understand the legal requirements of the Child Maltreatment Act and the duties of mandated reporters, understand methods of managing disclosures re: child victims, understand methods for connecting a victim of child maltreatment to appropriate in-school services and other agencies, programs and services needed to provide the child with the emotional and educational support the child needs to continue to be successful in school. Participants will see national & local pervasiveness of child maltreatment and how hotline reporting is common place; practice with case studies, prepare mentally to report, and consider prevention resources
