SWAEC- Visible Learning in Literacy for CTE Teachers

This 2-day training will focus on the implementation of Visible Learning for Literacy practices to best accelerate student learning and skill development for CTE Technical Reading and Writing in all CTE areas. It will cover evidence-based literacy strategies to help fortify CTE teachers' toolkits to support student development of Technical Literacy Skills. Strategies covered will be customized to the unique hands-on environment of CTE Classrooms. CTE Teachers will receive a copy of "Visible Learning for Literacy: Implementing the Practices That Work Best to Accelerate Student Learning" by Douglas Fisher, Nancy Frey, and John Hattie, to use as a reference in designing valuable and applicable CTE lessons to teach Technical Literacy Skills for all CTE areas.
